Our hope is to help raise children who are curious but grounded, capable but compassionate, adventurous but discerning, and knowledgeable while remaining rooted in Christ.
Wilder Roots Gathering Grove isn't about recreating the traditional classroom outdoors. It's about creating something different—a village where families can learn, grow, serve, and adventure together.
From nature studies and Wild School courses to life skills, career exploration, makers opportunities, community service, and family gatherings, we are building a place where faith, freedom, learning, and community can grow side by side.

Meet The Owner
I’m Shelby Dollar, owner of Wilder Roots Gathering Grove and founder of Wilder Roots Homeschool Village. I’m a wife, homeschooling mom of seven, entering our 10th year homeschooling, and a Florida native with a lifelong love for the outdoors. I grew up exploring, learning, and simply enjoying life outside—and that love continues to shape the way I homeschool and serve our community.
I’m a naturally-minded, hands-on learner and hold certifications in Wilderness First Aid, Forest School, Immersive Nature Education, and Florida Friendly Angler.
My heart is to create simple, meaningful opportunities for families to get outside, learn something new, grow in faith, and enjoy the beautiful place we call home. ☀️
